Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has provided an injury update on Jude Bellingham following his substitution during his side’s 3-0 victory over Girona on Saturday, Soccernet.football reports.
Goals from Bellingham, Arda Guler, and Kylian Mbappe secured Madrid’s return to winning ways in La Liga. The result brought them closer to league leaders Barcelona, narrowing the gap to just two points after the Catalans were held at Real Betis.
However, concerns arose over Bellingham when he was replaced by Dani Ceballos around the 60-minute mark. The 21-year-old, having scored and assisted in the game, appeared to be in discomfort as he made his way to the bench.
“Bellingham is scoring his fifth goal in a row and is in good form,” Ancelotti told reporters as per 90Mins.
“He has a bit of fatigue in his leg. He preferred not to take any risks in the last few minutes. He is fine and is available for Tuesday.
“Arda and Mbappe have scored and Brahim [Diaz] has been fine. [Ferland] Mendy has had a muscle injury. The rest are just knocks, nothing more.
“We had to hold on at the start because they pushed hard. We did a good job offensively and then we managed the advantage well.
“After Bellingham’s goal the team had more clarity and good ideas. The second half was very good. We had to hold on because of the injuries and little by little we are going to get better.”
Ancelotti’s Galacticos will be looking to maintain their winning momentum when they take on current Serie A leaders Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday before traveling to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Saturday.
