Victor Osimhen and Tolu Arokodare were the difference makers for their respective clubs as Galatasaray and Genk picked up victories in their respective matches on Saturday evening, Soccernet.football reports.
After two disappointing draws, Galatasaray returned to winning ways as Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen inspired the champions to a tough 1-0 win over visiting Konyaspor.
Osimhen converted a 22nd-minute penalty – his 13th league goal of the season – to hand Galatasaray all the three points at stake and their 17th win of the Super Lig campaign.
It is Osimhen’s fifth penalty scored this term and his fourth goal in five games in 2025.
Meanwhile, in Belgium, Tolu Arokodare delivered an excellent performance to inspire KRC Genk to a thrilling 2-1 victory at Westerlo in the Jupiler Pro League.
Arokodare registered a goal and an assist to almost single-handedly drag Genk to their 16th league win in 23 games this season.
Westerlo first had a taste of what Arokodare was all about when the big Nigerian forward rolled the ball for full-back Zakaria El Ouahdi to open the scoring in the 18th minute of the encounter.
The home team did not heed the warning signs and on the half-hour mark, Arokodare struck.
The former Cologne striker teased his marker in the danger area, powered past him before firing an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net to double Genk’s advantage.
Substitute Isa Sakamoto reduced the deficit for Westerlo late on but Genk held firm to take the three points back home.
With his latest effort, Arokodare has taken his season’s tally to 14 league goals to remain at the top of the goalscorer chart.
