Super Eagles and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze scored in stoppage-time as the Rossoneri pulled off a dramatic 3-2 victory over Parma at San Siro on Sunday, Soccernet.football reports.
Parma opened the scoring in the 24th minute with Matteo Cancellieri’s long-range strike, but Christian Pulisic equalized with a penalty seven minutes before halftime. Enrico Del Prato restored the visitors’ lead with 10 minutes left, pouncing on a loose ball after Mike Maignan saved Drissa Camara’s effort.
Strahinja Pavlovic thought he had leveled for Milan late on, but his goal was ruled out for offside. However, Tijani Reijnders equalized in the second minute of added time, calmly finishing from Yunus Musah’s pass.
The drama peaked in the 95th minute when Chukwueze, who came off the bench in the 57th minute in place of Youssouf Fofana, bundled in Pavlovic’s header to complete a spectacular comeback and send San Siro into a frenzy of wild jubilations.
Chukwueze’s winner was just his second goal in 18 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri, with the Nigeria international also making his ninth appearance from the substitute’s bench this season. The 25-year-old has been the subject of transfer speculation in the ongoing winter transfer window, with Serie A side Bologna said to be interested in acquiring his services.
Reports also claim that AC Milan are willing to add the winger as make-weight in a deal that will see them prise a target of their own, Riccardo Orsolini, off the hands of Bologna. However, no concrete progress has been made in that regard as at the time of writing.
Sunday’s victory lifts Milan to sixth in the Serie A standings with 34 points, while Parma remain dangerously close to the relegation zone in 17th place with 20 points .
