Juventus and Inter Milan are reportedly monitoring Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen as the Serie A giants explore strengthening their defensive options, Soccernet.football reports.
Despite persistent rumours, the Danish international has publicly reaffirmed his commitment to the Catalan club.
Christensen is currently sidelined with an injury and has emphasised his priority is to recover and rejoin the team.
The speculation arises amidst Barcelona’s ongoing struggles to comply with La Liga’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. The club has relied on Iñigo Martínez and rising star Pau Cubarsí in Christensen’s absence, further fueling rumours about his future.
According to MD reports, Juventus and Inter Milan are keen to secure Christensen’s services, with both clubs seeing the 27-year-old as a key addition to their defensive ranks.
Barcelona’s registration challenges have also complicated matters.
Christensen was de-registered earlier this season to accommodate Dani Olmo, leaving the club juggling registration priorities. While plans are in place to re-register Christensen, the club must also navigate how to register Olmo for the second half of the campaign.
Both players were unavailable during Barcelona’s shocking 2-1 home defeat to Las Palmas on Saturday – the team’s first home league loss this season.
