The UEFA Euro 2024 tournament has reached the quarter-final stage, with matches set for Friday, 5 July, and Saturday, 6 July.
The final eight teams are competing for a spot in the semi-finals, with the final scheduled to take place in Berlin on 14 July. The quarter-finals will be held in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Berlin.
The opening quarter-final tie sees Spain take on hosts Germany. Spain overcame an own goal to beat Georgia 4-1 in the round of 16, aiming for their fourth Euros semi-final in five tournaments.
Meanwhile, Germany, growing stronger with each match, hope to continue their home victory run in Stuttgart.
In Hamburg, there’s a rematch of the Euro 2016 final between Portugal and France.
Portugal edged past Slovenia in a penalty shootout, despite Cristiano Ronaldo missing a spot-kick in extra time. France needed an own goal to overcome Belgium, progressing after a challenging group stage featuring Austria and the Netherlands.
England will face Switzerland in Düsseldorf.
England’s dramatic qualification saw Jude Bellingham’s last-second overhead kick and Harry Kane’s extra-time winner against Slovakia. Switzerland, having defeated defending champions Italy, aim to reach their first-ever semi-final.
The final quarter-final in Berlin pits the Netherlands against Turkey. The Netherlands, finishing third in their group, looked revitalized as they defeated Romania 3-0.
Turkey have come together at the right moment, winning two group games and overcoming Austria 2-1 in an exciting round of 16 match.
