Cruzeiro announced they have reached an agreement to sign the 21-year-old forward.
Jorge joined Juventus in 2021, but a long-term injury sidelined him for nearly two years, hindering his progress with the team. He spent the last season on loan at Frosinone but failed to make a significant impact.
Cruzeiro had shown keen interest in the striker, initially aiming for a loan move. However, they have now decided to secure his transfer for a fee of 4 million euros. Cruzeiro confirmed the verbal agreement on their social media platform.
In a statement, Cruzeiro said: “Cruzeiro announces a verbal agreement for the permanent transfer of Kaio Jorge with Juventus and the player’s representatives. The striker is expected in Belo Horizonte later this week. If all conditions are met and he passes the medical exams, Kaio Jorge will sign a five-year contract with Cruzeiro.”
Kaio Jorge first gained attention when he played for Brazil’s U15 team in the 2017 South American U-15 Championship, scoring four goals in three matches.
He also shone in the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup, netting five goals, including one in the final, earning the Bronze Boot as Brazil won the tournament.
