The former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar enjoyed a wonderfully, successful spell in Italy with Juventus
Former Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini has revealed his deep admiration for Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo, Soccernet.football reports.
Often considered one of the greatest footballer of all time, Ronaldo played for three of the biggest clubs in Europe – Manchester United (twice), Real Madrid, and Juventus – before he left Europe for Saudi Arabia in 2023.
While he will be remembered as a Man United great and a Real Madrid legend, Ronaldo’s legacy at Juventus will also stand the test of time.
The Portuguese megastar won two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana honours and the Coppa Italia in 2021 during three-year spell with the Italian giants.
However, during his career, Ronaldo has often been perceived as having an arrogant image on the pitch, a description he has often decried.
Sharing his insights on Ronaldo, former Juventus captain Chiellini reveals he has only a very positive image of the five-time Ballon d’Or on and off the pitch.
“It was an honour to have captained Juventus alongside Cristiano Ronaldo,” Chiellini said in The BSMT podcast as per FootMercato.
“It was a unique opportunity. I have to admire him because he has always been good in the group. He’s not like the others! He is never absent when necessary, not even during team dinners.
“Cristiano is someone who is respectful and almost obsessive in the way he takes care of his body and prepares for matches. He wants to score and he wants to win. I was impressed by his personality in the most complicated matches. He had a crazy desire to make waves and wanted to show that he was stronger than all of Real Madrid.”
Even at 39, Ronaldo is still scoring goals and making impact for Al Nassr, where he won the Arab Club Champions Cup last year.
