On matchday 35 against Real Sociedad, Yamal made history once again. He opened the scoring in the 40th minute, helping Barcelona to a 2-0 victory at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Raphinha added the second goal from the penalty spot in injury time.
Yamal, aged 16 years and 306 days, has now scored five goals this La Liga season.
The youngster scored three goals in two apperances against Granada, found the net versus Mallorca, and most recently, hit the target in the defeat of Real Sociedad. With three games remaining this season, he has the opportunity to add to this record.
Even Barcelona great and the club’s all-time highest goalscorer Lionel Messi did not come close to this achievement.
Messi scored his first La Liga goal just a month before turning 18, in Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Albacete in May 2005.
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández often praises Yamal, saying, “He is different. He will mark an era.” Yamal’s talent continues to shine, making him a key player for the team.
Barcelona’s win against Real Sociedad moved them back to second place in the La Liga standings above Girona.
Yamal was a standout performer, exciting the fans and contributing significantly to the team’s success. His duel with Pacheco and the Basque defense was a highlight of the match.
With three games left against Almeria, Rayo Vallecano, and Sevilla, Barcelona will aim to secure second place behind champions Real Madrid. This would qualify them for the Super Cup.
Yamal will look to continue his impressive goal-scoring run in these remaining matches.
