Frimpong has enjoyed a sensational campaign at Bayer Leverkusen and was one of the most crucial members of Xabi Alonso’s Invincibles.
The Dutch international scored nine goals and created seven assists from his wing-back position as Bayer Leverkusen lifted the Bundesliga title for the first time in the club’s history.
Remarkably, Frimpong and his teammates achieved that remarkable feat while staying undefeated throughout the season, becoming the first German side to do so.
That historic achievement has brought extra spotlight on many Bayer Leverkusen stars with Frimpong among those linked with a move away from the BayerArena during the upcoming transfer window.
Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are among the top clubs reportedly interested in the Dutchman.
However, Frimpong is not keen on leaving Bayer Leverkusen just yet.
When asked about rumours in the German media that he would like to leave the club, as per NOS, Frimpong responded: “I have no idea where those stories come from. I am not concerned with that. I am very happy at Leverkusen. I am not going anywhere for the time being.
“It’s a great time to be a Leverkusen player.”
Frimpong could lay hands on another title tonight as Bayer Leverkusen and Italian side Atalanta face off in the final of the Europa League.
