Liverpool are closely monitoring Bundesliga forwards Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi as potential replacements for Mohamed Salah, Soccernet.football reports.
The Egyptian winger, now 33, is entering the final months of his contract, with no progress publicly made on an extension. With Salah able to negotiate pre-contract terms with foreign clubs in January, offers from Saudi Pro League sides are expected to be on the table.
Salah has started the season in scintillating form, scoring four goals and providing four assists in seven Premier League appearances.
Liverpool, under new head coach Arne Slot, currently sit at the top of the Premier League heading into the international break, but are preparing for the potential departure of their talisman.
According to reports from Sky Germany, Liverpool have identified Omar Marmoush as a key target.
The 25-year-old Egyptian has been in remarkable form for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just six Bundesliga matches this season.
Since joining Frankfurt in 2023, Marmoush has netted 20 goals in 35 league appearances, catching the eye of several top European clubs. The versatile forward, who can play as a central striker or on either wing, has also earned 32 caps for Egypt alongside Salah.
Karim Adeyemi, Dortmund’s 22-year-old forward, is another player Liverpool are tracking.
Adeyemi has been impressive this season, notably scoring a hat-trick in Dortmund’s 7-1 Champions League victory over Celtic. His pace and versatility make him a suitable candidate for Liverpool, though concerns over his injury history may factor into the club’s decision.
With Salah’s future uncertain, Liverpool are making contingency plans to maintain their attacking threat in the seasons to come.
