Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has urged the club’s hierarchy to bring in players who can win games as they continue to pursue their summer targets in the transfer window, Soccernet.football reports.
The Catalan club are yet to make any signings so far this transfer window, but Hansi Flick has outlined his expectations for new additions.
The former Germany manager is gearing up for his first season with the Blaugrana but is currently poised to start their preseason tour of the United States without any new signings in the squad.
Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo are two players high on Barcelona’s list of summer targets after both players put on incredible displays in Germany as they helped Spain to a fourth European Championships title.
In his first interview with the club’s official media team, Flick promised to take the team to the “next level,” emphasizing that transfers will be a significant part of that process.
“We have to bring in a player who can win games, but we also have young players who we have to help so that they can improve,” Flick said.
“I’ve felt from day one the passion that the people have. The fans. Everyone. The president. Everyone here, those who work here, have that passion for Barca. The devotion to give their best for this club.
“And that’s also something big for us because we want to be part of this entity and live this passion and this devotion.
“We want to give everything we have to take this club to the next level. We will do everything possible.”
Barcelona’s biggest domestic rivals and reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid have added significant strength in attack with the signing of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.
If they are to stand any chance of successfully competing both domestically and in Europe this coming season, the Blaugrana must make significant additions to key areas in their squad this summer.
