FC Bayern Munich are actively working on securing Xavi Simons, with the transfer talks now in their final stages, Soccernet.football understands.
The dethroned German champions aim to bring the talented Dutch midfielder to Munich.
Weeks ago, Simons informed Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to move this summer. While there were only vague rumours about his next destination during the European Championship, things have now progressed.
According to L’Equipe as per FussballEuropa, FC Bayern have intensified their efforts recently. The club is initially looking to loan Simons from PSG, with a purchase option to follow.
RB Leipzig, where Simons was loaned last season, are also interested in securing the player’s services.
However, Bayern have reportedly made a substantial offer to PSG, proposing a deal worth €90 million. This amount would be paid if Bayern decide to sign Simons permanently after the loan period.
Bayern’s interest in Simons is seen as part of their broader strategy, with the young midfielder potentially filling in while the club targets Florian Wirtz.
Simons is currently on holiday after his participation in the European Championships with the Netherlands, where he scored one goal and provided three assists, helping his team reach the semi-finals.
