The winger has been named Player of the Match ten times, a feat unmatched by stars like PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Real Madrid’s Harry Kane, or Inter Milan’s Luciano Martinez.
Mbappe, Vinicius, Haaland, and Martinez all won the league titles in France, Spain, England, and Italy, respectively while Kane claimed the European Golden Boot. Still, none of them came up trumps more times for their clubs than Kvaratskhelia did for Napoli.
According to the football statistics site ‘Who Scored’, no player in Europe’s top five leagues won more Player of the Match awards last season. Kvaratskhelia excelled under managers Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri, and Francesco Calzona, showcasing his talent in both league and cup competitions.
Despite Napoli’s struggles this season, following their first Serie A title win in 33 years last year, Kvaratskhelia remained a standout performer.
The 23-year-old playmaker scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 34 league games. However, Napoli failed to qualify for European competitions next season.
In his debut season, Kvaratskhelia helped Napoli reach the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time and secured their Serie A title, earning him the Serie A Most Valuable Player and the Champions League’s Young Player of the Season awards.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Kvaratskhelia to replace Kylian Mbappe, impressed by the Georgian’s technical skills and statistics.
However, convincing Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to part with the player for less than €100 million will be challenging.
