The French star is expected to leave PSG for Real Madrid when his contract expires next month.
Despite the claims about unpaid wages, both Mbappe and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi maintain a strong relationship.
Last summer, the two parties agreed that Mbappe would waive some of his bonus and salary if he left on a free transfer.
However, despite widespread reports of a growing dispute between Mbappe and PSG, Daily Mail claims there is an ongoing positive dialogue between Mbappe and the club regarding the remaining payments. Both sides are working towards a final agreement.
Mbappe’s future has been a hot topic as he prepares to leave PSG. He scored 44 goals in 48 appearances this season, helping PSG win Ligue 1 and the French Cup, and reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
However, his season wasn’t without controversy. Mbappe was excluded from PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia after refusing a contract extension but later rejoined the team. He was also often substituted in the final matches of the season.
PSG reportedly saved around €80m (£68m) by not paying Mbappe his full salary and bonus. Despite this, both parties appear to be in good spirits, aiming to settle the financial dispute amicably.
Mbappe recently hosted a farewell party in Paris and is preparing for life in Madrid, where he has reportedly purchased a £15m mansion. His move to Real Madrid could be announced before Euro 2024, where he is set to lead France to glory.
